All time at home...

It is so difficult to sit at home. I wish I never had that accident and I wish Tashi did get the call tht i had met with an accident and my life would have been a little different. Mom is back from India and di is also here. Having 2 women around you who keep telling you not to do things can be really annoying. I havnt been home for a long time, so i guess should relax in the break that I have got.

Its fun to have shivam and riya playing around the house, making noise and fighting reminds me of my times with di in mumbai. feels like our childhood is revisited. But my trip to Toronto's trip got cancelled because of this accident. Makes me feel worse, i know Tashi did have a tough time without her people around and to add more to it she did put up with disgustingly annoying people for some time. Will make up with her in February and will try to get her a US visa as soon as possible.

In the end its freaking to sit at home doing nothing when you are used to a fast moving hectic, with busy schedules and suudenly you have nuthing to do. Worse beacuse i cant even enjoying this break by going out or having vacations and clubbing, getting drunk and girls.... all because of the cast and the stiches. tough will be fine by new year so will try to have some good fun..

Influenced

I am getting influenced by the talks of the women around me, who are they my mom, di, granny and Tashi.I have seriously got into the thinking process that now i am only thinking about it.

Women are dangerous, when they get on to planning, they know how to get their things thruogh. Btwn Nikki has been in town with me for 5 months now and almost done with her internship and is ready to leave back to LA. We had a good weekend this time and prolly the last weekend together, this time it was something different. I thought she would take up the job at the same place and i'll have some company around.

But Nikki is flying to India again (to give Tashi some company, for sure). I am so jealous and to add more to it after Mexico got postponed even Moscow is on hold for a month so I will be left alone here, but finally mom's coming back.

Am Back

Ahh finally I'm back home, but really not happy to be back. The business trip was awesome. The new job as i thought it would be, is great. The financial audits can be difficult and challenging. First week at new work place was fairly good with my first trip as a Financial Auditor in Greece.

Ahhh what to say about Greece, Athens. 2 weeks in Athens was quite good mix of work and pleasure. Lovely people and good food at your reach. An eclectic mix of culture. Never felt like coming back. The evenings were rocking n peaceful on the same side.

All this while dad was all by himself. Trying to adjust to NYC lifestyle, and i guess he's bored being all alone so has decided to go back to India and be in Mom's comapny. I knew that so well, he cant stay here without her. I am fine with that because i will be flying to Mexico next week on Sat for 2 weeks. Back from Mexico i have a week in NYC then will be flying to Moscow for some Russian experience for close to 4 weeks.

Okies enuff out here.. need to make a few calls, especially mom because she's been waiting since last night as i couldnt speak to her, following my other darlings thts my granny, my sis, niks and most importantly Tashi.. hehe haha.. I'm dead for sure today

Will try to keep this place as much possible updated

In Manhattan

Itz been really really long since the last post... The thing was that nothing was really happening in life.. the daily chores, get ;eat; go to work; come home; eat work; sleep. The new job has come as a rescue to the damn lifesyle. Moving from LA to NYC feels good.

Being in Manhattan is a different feeling. Though was in CA for almost like 4 yrs, but people there lack agression. The lifestyle there is so that makes you soft. Moving to Manhattan feels like charging up life. Nice place beutifully located, a kind of a place where i wud love to spend an evening with beer doing nothing and watch people passing by, agrresive hard working people and a totally differnt lifesyle to LA. LA was more of showy dowy sweetie sweetie life, while Manhattan rocks, hard hitting people, partying scene is differnt, GIRLS are way differnt, working atmoshphere is very much energetic and workoholic people, they work hard and party harder.

This place only reminds me of my mumbai. Variety of food joints, anything u ask for; around the same corner, and a life by a sea. The feeling rght now is like if i compare to mumbai would be like moving from Bandra to Worli. Aaahhh i guess missing home-mumbai. Mom sill isnt back from India, but Dad's here. And we 2 men are trying to set up a home. Though it not tht big to wht we had in LA. Home back was huge and spacious. For now we hv bought a 3 bed apt. Abhi kaam chalao types, tough its spacious and nice view of the city from the windows but i guess too used to the old home n walls and it will take time.

Dad n I are looking around places for to final shifting in another new home, but that will happen only after mom comes back. Inspite of all this things we father n son are going through, mom still dosnt want to come back here and has planned her trip back with Tashi. Wonder when this women is going to get done with her visa's n she dosent plan to leave mumbai only after her bday which in july.. god !!! Mom u need to get back soon, cant wait for so long n live in a mess with things not fixed.

Ahh and the new job. It's going to be good and challenging coz i will be moving around for financial audits. Will be travelling every forthnight to europe, UK, within US and South America. I guess will be a good travelling experience. Good sal package almost reached 100k with travel funds n bonus. i guess settled well in term of career n life. Need to move towards settling life on the next step... ladki, biwi, aaffat, shaadi.. whtever its called...

For u baccha

For u baby (Darshita, aka Tashi, aka my Champu)

It’s really been long since the last post and I’m sure its going to be the lengthiest post.

The feeling after coming back to LA is awful. It’s been bout 2 weeks tht I’m here but still feel the same. Nihal is enjoying in India, Pranav in Dallas, Niki in UK enjoying Riya’s wedding. Mom refuses to come back before June and dad‘s giving her company and will return only after March end. Sis n Tapan with Arman has moved to San Diego. I’m left all alone, all by myself.

I’m feeling pathetic. It’s terrible to sit all alone on the dining table. To add more to it, work’s been hectic and stressful. T-5 report has taken a toll on me. Being aware, Champu calls up everyday. Don’t know what was it tht I blasted her so badly on Sunday. I was not in control and she wanted to discuss something and god knows y I fired her so badly. Only the next day after the report submission I realized tht she was talking something absolutely different from what I took it the other day and I blasted her for a whole different issue.

And knowing her for like close to a decade, I know she must have cried behind the locked door. Knowing my temper and my tone while I m angry, I know it must have hurt her badly. And I was right. Now the thing is I’m back to normal and she refuses to talk to me, doesn’t pick my calls & has blocked me on messenger. I know it’s my mistake, I’ve committed a crime and I know it is a punishable offence bcoz I said bout few things shez most sensitive to. But this is not the punishment I get, I don’t accept it.

I’m writing it here coz I know u won’t even read my mails. Champu u know I don’t say sorry so easily even if its my fault. But I’m really really really very very very very SORRY… and u know I mean it. I swear on u I’ll do whtever u say but to punish me u need to talk to me. I’m not getting sleep. Can u believe it I’m saying SORRY to u on a public domain. Remember u’ve always said, “I can forgive but cant forget”…. Don’t forget but please forgive me… and you have to; see I’ve become sweet for a change!!!

And if u do not talk to me in another 2 hrs then u know what…. Hehehehe hahahahaha….. I swear on u I will do tht... Maaf kar de yaar.. I’ll send u couple of soft toys with Mayank. Hez coming to b’bay by next week…

New Year's Eve

Running around getting a few things done since morning and finally grabbing passes to Royal Palms New Year’s Party, all went in to the guttar. Why? Ms. Darshita came in strong to go her way to celebrate the New Year’s Eve and if not then she would stay back home. To add ghee to the fire, the girl gang joined her. The event sounded to girlie, eww… Eve at Marriot’s pool side… sounded like a romantic date n not a new year’s party. I just felt that suddenly I have turned sixty. But it had been a couple of years that all of us came together and did not want to leave the girls their way so we joined in.

The eve came to us as a pleasant surprise because not even for once I felt that I was sixty with that soft music on. Awesome music, great weather, good food on the platter and lot of drinks. It was rather the best new year’s eve I have had, with great conversations, a feeling of togetherness and splendid quality time we shared.

Another surprise was waiting for us, at 2.00 when we decided to get back home, the girls said that they were going to shreya’s place and wanted us to join them. We reach there and her terrace decorated with ballons and candles and more drinks. The terrace gave the view of the entire beach. We were amazed to see that girls planned all this. What a theme and venue… Aahh! a ball dance party. With just a few of us left single, the couples were having a great time. We joined them and had gr8 fun.

An honest confession that the party turned out to be on par excellence than what we expected it to be. There was a great feeling of togetherness and the quality time we spent. It was an awesome time and a party whose memories we are going to cherish for long…

Thanks Tashi for the splendid time we got to enjoy… Everything was worth the fight you gave me to have this party on…

Now I need to get going to Shabbir’s place for Id and the awesome food is waiting for me… its another gathering..i’m loving it

Blaa…. really don’t know wht will I land up writing

After 21 yrs of stay in India, 4 yrs in the US and coming back after 2 yrs just made me realize what I m going to miss staying in LA. A nice simple day. Mom and Tashi arguing in the kitchen on whoz going to cook and what. Our Bengali neighbour, aunty cooked fish curry and rice for me which I love.

Mom n tashi were discussing something in a way that pulled my attention. Guess what they were busy doing, trying to figure out what kind of a girl will I want to settle down with. And soon the question was passed on to me. The immediate answer that came onto my mind was, a blend of mom and tashi. In this pst 8 yrs therez a strange bond that thay have . Anything they want to get it done from me, they are one n you are left with no option or ne1 to take ur side.

This thought made me think, what my life wud have been without these two women. Mom who I love the most and she is always with me, and Tashi who came into my life as a stranger and in no time became an indispensable part of my life – My best friend, a poetic philosopher, my teacher to life and my kid sis who always wanted an elder bro on whom she can throw tantrums. And she has one….

The feeling of losing them is scary. The thought that scared me the most – A man that will come in her life - Tashi’s marriage. For the first time I was jealous, babes I really am. I am so used o her that reads me in and out. My voice tells her everything abt me. I would no longer could do dadagiri that I used to do, and therez a list of things I m going to miss – morning tea, cold coffee, food, the music we share, the long talks, your bhashan on what I should be doing, the head and shoulder massage ( shez gifted with healing hands that drives off all stress and pain.. I swear to god on this) and above all; the times that I make her cry.

Though I am the elder one, she has been the one making me do the rght things. Have seen her go through a few things that has taken a lot from her. Yet the way she’z fought back and led her life with such dignity and pride. I salute her for it, wonder how many girls could have pulled it off the way she did. Really happy to see the way she has moved on.

Today with lot of pride, popularity and attention both in social as well as professional life, she deserves all that she has today. Just a thought that kills me inside, will she ever allow the cupid to strike her again!!! I will wait and pray for the day when all over again she will have someone who would sweep her off her feet . I know it would sound bias but being a guy I can definitely say, a guy would never ask for anything more after having a partner, a friend and a darling like her !!!! Love you
Three cheers to you… you are the one that I can call – Woman of Substance !!!!

Yeh Hain MUMBAI Meri Jaan !!!!

Having a great day yesterday and hitting the bed early last night I woke up at 5.30am. Wondering what can be done at this hour just felt like going to juhu for a long walk but needed someone to join me. The only person that bears at any given hour of the day, I called up Tashi. I went and picked her up from kandivli and went to juhu. Was an awesome drive with some good music on. I know she was petrified with it.

We walked thru the beach from royal plams till way beyond sun-n-sand. Just silently walking thru the wet sand. People on jog, refreshing themselves with nariyal pani n some fresh carrot, beet, amla juices and wht not on the beach.. man there is business at juhu 6.30 am in the morning. I was surprised to hear that these stalls start by 5.30 in the morning. Laughter clubs, couples, children, granpa’s and granma’s all charged up.

After troubling Tashi early morning had to do a few things her way. We headed to KEM hospital to her lab and more to my surprise my punishment to wake her up so early that I had to travel by train. That was something I really would not go for, but being with this stubborn chick I boarded the train n almost felt suffocating only after which I realized that this is the life every working man lives here in Mumbai.

After making me work like a servant in her lab which I did not dare to refuse we headed to Marine Drive for lunch. I wanted to avoid the train again but it was boss’s call but this time the train was quite empty so I enjoyed the ride standing at the door which she insisted on. Marine Drive as beautiful as ever, cleaner than before with some really good food joints.

Just with walk the talk along the drive we reached chowpatty without realizing that moved on a bit far off. With irresistible urge of tashi to have kulfi at chowpatty we had it and headed to Bandra for some street shopping with the master of bargaining, she made my pockets go light. After all it was a day out with her and reached home late evening with a few friends waiting.

We decided to go out for dinner n then catch up with some movie. After waiting for a table for an hour outside Radha Krishna we managed to walk out at around 10 and decided to go to Chandan for a movie stuck in traffic at this hour. We reached the theatre n guess what it’s an 11.00 pm housefull show of bhagam bhag and we had to buy tickets in black (I wasn’t expecting to buy tickets in black for 11 pm show). After the movie Ms. Tashi wants to have ice cream 1.30 in the night (I really wonder how y always she feels like eating ice cream in middle of the night). I really lost my head on her demand for which she yelled back and took us to naturals ice cream and I was surprised to see it open at this hour. Finally we all had ICE CREAM and we head back home…

Wondering y the hell did I put my day out here but I guess it was all about Mumbai. Not even for a moment I felt tht I have missed a thing that I have had in the US. Mumbai definitely is a city that never sleeps, right from the early morning till wee hours at night, it’s a lively place. Given some high standard infrastructure and civil management, it’s a city that can give a tough competition to any of the happening cities in the world. Its not only about the city but the people – The Mumbaikars who live upto the spirits of Mumbai.
It Rocks !!!!!
